Welcome Spring back to Utah and the color back to your landscape at our Spring Fling Open House! We're hosting our seasonal celebration - filled with vendors, artisan goods, annuals and perennials for your garden, greenhouse tours, and special mini-workshops - on April 16th from 10 am to 4 pm.
During the open house, you’ll have the chance to attend short informational demos led by the talented Freckle Farm staff and some of our favorite experts from our growing community. These mini-workshops are guaranteed to inspire your inner green thumb. Whether you're an experienced grower or just beginning to explore the joy of gardening, our demo lineup will have what you need to take your plants to the next level.
Don’t forget to have some family fun too! We'll have pansies and Easter grass planting activities as well as our Easter Egg Hunt starting at 10 am and scavenger hunts available throughout the day.
10:00 am - Annual Easter Egg Hunt: Kick off our spring fling with an Easter Egg Hunt for the whole family. The Easter Bunny is stopping by to drop off some eggs full of candy around our greenhouse. Parents, be sure to find a glitter egg and get a special prize just for you!
11:00 am - Greenhouse Tour: Take a guided tour through our four greenhouses to learn about our staff favorite varieties, explore new varieties for the season, and get your fill of early season color.
11:30 am - Landscape Design Fundamentals Class: Learn the basics of designing with plants including color theory, balancing textures, and drawing plans. Amanda Hamilton-Freckle Farm's Landscape Designer.
12:00 pm - Greenhouse Tour: Take a guided tour through our four greenhouses to learn about our staff favorite varieties, explore new varieties for the season, and get your fill of early season color.
12:30 pm - Delightful Dahlias: In this mini class, get an introduction to the wonderful world of growing dahlias in your garden. Julie Williams-Stonehouse Dahlias.
1:00 pm - Greenhouse Tour: Take a guided tour through our four greenhouses to learn about our staff favorite varieties, explore new varieties for the season, and get your fill of early season color.
1:30 pm - Spring Boutique Baskets: Utilize unique combinations for your annual containers. This workshop will feature boutique baskets that focus on foliage, simple flower colors, and bold leaf statements. Amanda Pieper-Freckle Farm's Assistant Sensei.
2:00 pm - Greenhouse Tour: Take a guided tour through our four greenhouses to learn about our staff favorite varieties, explore new varieties for the season, and get your fill of early season color.
2:30 pm - Growing a Cut Flower Garden: Get those anxious fingers in the soil and plant a cut flower garden. In this demonstration, we will show you the materials needed to grow your own cut flowers and show some best local practices for our area. Lisa Gramse-Freckle Farm's Master Sensei.
