Join us for an informative and hands-on workshop on the fascinating world of medicinal plants! In this workshop, we will explore the compelling reasons why growing your own medicinal plants is both rewarding and beneficial for your health. Discover which plants thrive in home gardens, allowing you to easily cultivate a diverse range of healing herbs right at your doorstep.
In addition to garden cultivation, we will delve into the art of wildcrafting, a traditional practice of gathering plants from their natural habitats. Learn which plants are best suited for wildcrafting and where to find them, ensuring a sustainable and responsible approach to this ancient skill. Uncover the secrets of identifying plants that can be friends, enemies, or ones that tend to take over your garden, empowering you to create harmonious plant communities.
Local Master Herbalist Cheryl Moore has been invited in to lead this workshop while our very own Master Sensei, Lisa, will be instructing on home gardening and how to be successful with plants at home.
They will be covering:
- Why to grow your own medicinal plants and which perform best in our gardens
- What are the rules for wildcrafting
- How to harvest, use, and dry herbs for future use
- Where to setup your garden for simple success
